I recommend based on my experiences. I've been to two locations, Glendale and Pasadena, and had very positive experiences both times. My dog does not like going to the Vet or to groomers, at all, but at Modern Animal they've always been able to get her in and provide whatever services were needed. I appreciate their patience dealing with her anxiety and they handle her with care. We've done preventative care, as well as treatment for an ear infection. I signed up for their annual membership plan. I feel the prices are fairly standard, probably not the highest but not the lowest. However, their facilities are extremely clean, their app is super easy to use and very convenient to schedule/ reschedule appointments, and view records and lab results. Additionally, every person we were in contact with was very professional, kind, and courteous, from the customer support chat specialist, to the front desk person, to the assistants and vets. Both Vets we saw seemed very knowledgeable and capable, but was also very emphatic towards my dog. For all these reasons, I recommend giving them a try.

The best vet experience hands down! I called on a Sunday around noon to see if I could get a same-day appointment for my cat who was experiencing an abscess/open wound. The call center was amazing. Found me an opening and transferred me to a nurse so I could get more information while they got me set up for my appointment. Their Location was beautiful and clean. The staff were so friendly, and my cat was met with not only an abundance of love, but also a treat. The vet came in very quickly after we arrived and was exceptionally kind and gentle with my very scared cat. I didn’t know what to expect knowing that usually on the weekends, you’re subject to emergency visits with long hours of waiting and then rushed service. This was the best experience I’ve had in the 40 years that I have owned pets. I will very happily switch all of my veterinary care to modern animal and am beyond grateful for their care and kindness. The prices were very reasonable and much less than I expected from a veterinary appointment. I highly recommend this location and their care staff.

Claire did an amazing job with our pup!! Her check up was efficient & thorough - as well as the treatment plan suggested! We really appreciate her support in making our puppy feel better & be more comfortable.

MD and staff gave pre-procedure instructions as well as multiple updates during, as well as great follow up after dental care. They even checked in the next day. The price for dental exam, as well as the procedure on both of my pets was almost half what what my original vet wanted. I am switching over the care for my Gus and Otis to Modern Animal. I wish i would have found them sooner.

If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. The staff was so unbelievably kind and empathetic. I had been caring for a stray cat and took him in because we wanted to adopt. During our visit we discovered he was microchipped. This was very hard and very emotional. Modern Animal helped make arrangements with the humane society so that the cat could be reunited with his rightful owner and they didn’t charge me a dime. When we do adopt, this will be the clinic of our choice❤️

The staff is truly incredible. I was extremely anxious for my 6 y/o yorky's teeth cleaning since he was going to be down with anesthesia, and I cannot explain how at ease they made me feel. After explaining in depth every part of the procedure, I was confident I could trust them with my little dog. All the updates, compassion, and kindness I received have no price. If you are on the fence because Modern Animal is a bit pricey, be assured you are paying for top care and quality service for your pet, which, in my opinion is one of the first things you look at when paying for services. (One bad customer service experience can ruin everything!). Thank you Dr. Ohtomo and Nurse Natalie for your care and expertise! 10/10 all across the board for this Pasadena location🐾

They are fantastic. Clean new facility, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices and a wide array of services. I had my cat euthanized and a week later they sent me a dozen yellow roses and a condolence card signed by entire staff. WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND!

Everyone was so helpful and kind to me while I was there. I was a bit nervous because of some previous labs but Dr. Youn helped explain what was going on thoroughly, gave me options to consider, was transparent about price and despite it being potentially serious, gave me some realistic but hopeful next steps. Since the initial appointment, Dr. Youn and team went above and beyond to get to the bottom of what was going on and finally gave me great news that despite initial concerns, my dog was okay and healthy. I appreciate how Dr. Youn has treated my dog as if it was her own, and I wholeheartedly recommend any dog parent to go here if they want their doggo to be treated compassionately. My dog, Jj and I thank you all truly.

Modern Animal Pasadena has been the best vet for our little senior Shih Tzu Kristy. He had to have a hernia surgery and they supported us every step of the way. All the doctors and support staff have been amazing. Big shout out to Mia and Elias who helped us schedule everything out and answered all our questions. Dr. Kang who helped us figure out all the steps in a calm compassionate way, and Dr. Ohtomo who did an amazing job with the surgery. Kristy healed so well and quickly. Highly recommend them.

We are extremely satisfied with our care at Modern Animal and have been a member for 2 years now. Our cat Luna always feels comfortable around staff and the doctors. We love the convenience of drop in visits and live agent chat on the app if we have any urgent needs for Luna.
